Our Origin & Early Experience
Diplome began with the development of a digital wallet solution for the verification, portability and trusted management of academic qualifications and certified data. This early work was shaped by concrete customer needs and quickly evolved into real institutional use cases.
The first platform, the DiploMe Wallet, was developed in collaboration with CIMEA to support comparability and authentication services for educational titles and student mobility. It was later adopted in international initiatives involving the Council of Europe and UNESCO, including programmes supporting refugees and vulnerable populations.
These early experiences established Diplome’s foundations in wallet-based trust infrastructures, combining secure data exchange, certified information and interoperable digital services.
Our Evolution & Today
Building on the early experience of the DiploMe Wallet, Diplome progressively expanded its focus from education-related use cases to broader trusted digital infrastructures. What began as a wallet-based solution for academic qualifications and certified data evolved into a wider capability spanning certified attestations, wallet ecosystems and trust management.
This wallet experience, further strengthened by the European foundations provided by the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI), was progressively complemented by broader expertise in securing the digital environments in which these solutions operate. Over time, this led Diplome to extend its scope beyond trust and identity infrastructures, giving rise to a dedicated cyber business line focused on risk management, resilience and the protection of digital ecosystems.
Today, Diplome supports organisations in the design, delivery and strengthening of secure digital environments through three complementary business lines. These include Trusted & Certified Attestations, originally developed on blockchain-based architectures and further evolved in alignment with eIDAS 2; Wallet Ecosystems, covering issuance, verification and trust management services for interoperable digital environments; and Cyber Risk Management & Resilience, supporting governance, compliance, risk management and operational resilience across trusted digital services.
This evolution reflects Diplome’s transition from a specialised wallet initiative into a broader digital innovation company focused on helping customers build secure, interoperable and future-ready digital ecosystems.
